A faceted stoneware bottle vase with a narrow neck and octagonal body, each face covered in a grid of individually impressed circles. The surface has the quiet rhythm of something counted by hand — row after row of small stamps pressed into wet clay before the kiln changed everything.
The glaze is a matte ash tone, warm and earthy, with the clay body breaking through at the edges of each facet where the paddle shaped the form. The faceting itself is the mark of a confident potter — a round thrown vessel paddled into an octagonal shape while still soft, a technique rooted in both Japanese and Scandinavian ceramic traditions.
The name Westerberg is inscribed on the underside in a fluid, practiced script. A potter who signed their work this way expected it to be found again.
