Story
A four-pointed pressed glass dish with ribbed fluted sides sweeping up to sharp points and a hobnail center base. The shape is what stops you — somewhere between a folded handkerchief and a compass rose, more architectural than a dish has any right to be.
Clear glass, American, 1930s–1940s. Made during the period when American glasshouses were turning out forms with real design ambition at prices anyone could afford. Eighty years later, the ambition holds up.
A catch-all for keys and coins, a tray for jewelry at the end of the day, or just a quiet object on a shelf that earns its place by the way it handles light.
Origin
American pressed glass, 1930s–1940s. Likely Federal Glass or a similar Depression-era maker. Unmarked.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Glass is clear and bright with no cloudiness or discoloration.
